To learn about harvest we played a game called `What`s in the bag

Welcome to our first class newsletter! The children have selected what to include and
have written all the content on their own so I hope you will find it both interesting and
informative. If you have any questions about the work we are doing or feel you are able
to offer any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.
If possible could each child bring a bottle of water with them daily, to allow them to
take a drink without leaving the classroom. Please do not send juice in their bottles, only
water. Their bottles will be sent home everyday with them at 3pm.
The children are being encouraged to take responsibility for their own homework diaries
and red folders. I will not check their folders. If you have a note/message for me
please remind your child to hand it to me for reading.
Thank you. Miss Brown
Art
On Wednesdays we are mixing primary
colours to make secondary colours. We
have mixed blue and yellow to make
different shades of green. We also painted
a snake mixing red and blue together.
Which colour do you think red and blue
makes? The secondary colours are purple,
green and orange. The primary colours
are red, blue and yellow. Next time we will
mix red and yellow. What colour does red
and yellow make? We will be making
different shades of orange and painting a
butterfly.

PE
When it is sunny we go outside to do PE.
In PE we have been doing fitness. We run
and walk up and around the black poles and
back. We also do hopping and jumping. We
throw and roll tennis balls and run after
them in pairs. We play the bean game as
well. We are going to be keeping fit by
doing hoop aerobics with Miss Brown.

Times tables
We are learning the four times table. It was very
hard. We were also looking at the eleven times
table. It was quite easy. We know that 11 x 4 is
44, and that 4 x 4 is 16. Elisa
Drama
To learn about harvest we played a
game called ‘What’s in the bag?’ We
talked about when the farmers sell all
their food that they
have grown to the
shops or supermarkets
to get money.
We
have drama with Mrs
Bonnington.
