US Coast Guard Academy April 1‐2, 2017 NOTICE OF RACE 1 Rules: 1.1 The regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing, the ICSA Procedural Rules, the Notice of Race, and the Sailing Instructions. 2 Schedule: Saturday 1030 Report Time & Boat Draw 1100 Competitors Meeting 1130 First Possible Warning Signal 1800 Last Possible Warning Signal Sunday 0930 Boat Draw 1000 First Possible Warning Signal 1500 Last Possible Warning Signal 3 Sailing Instructions: 3.1 SI’s shall be posted via Tech Score by Friday, March 24th at 1800. 4 Format: 4.1 One division fleet racing in USCGA J/70’s with crews of four. 4.2 Teams shall draw for a different boat each morning of the event. 4.3 Up to sixteen (16) races will be scheduled for this two‐day regatta. 5 Courses: 5.1 Course 4 will be the standard course (W‐L‐W‐L with windward offset and leeward gate) 5.2 Course 3 (W‐L‐W with offset and gate), Course 5 (W‐L‐W‐L‐W with offset and gate), or Course 6 (W‐L‐W‐L‐W‐L) may be used. 5.3 The intended race duration times shall be approximately 15 to 25 minutes. This changes PR 18 (c ii). 6 Penalties: 6.1 RRS 44.1 is modified as follows: “A boat that may have broken a rule of Part 2 while racing may take a penalty at the time of the incident. Her penalty shall be a One‐Turn Penalty, unless she breaks a rule of Part 2 within the zone of any rounding mark or finishing mark, in which case her alternate penalty shall be a Two‐Turns Penalty”.
