The organism is a complex system of energy, matter and intelligence. The intelligence controls the activity of the organism. The divine structure of the organism is directed through energetic controls known as the four forces in physics. The principle of Complementary Structure and Function governs the relationship of growth and development. Organization of the organism: Morphogenic Fields of Intelligence Energetic Fields (Creative) (act) Functional Fields (Responsive) (upon) Molecular Fields Organization Cellular Organization Tissue Organization Organ Systems System S/F Management Structure / Function Macro Structure / Function Micro Body Systems Cellular Integrity Maintaining Life Transport Nutrients Aspects of Survival Excretion pH / Oxidation Immunity Mitochondria Systems Approach in Healing Understand the general functions of the macro/micro system. Relieve the disrupting foci. Support the intent of the most critical processes. Maintain the theme of support. Provide adequate understanding for the client. Structure and Function Macro S/F Systems within the body: Integumentary System Skeletal System Muscular System Lymphatic / Immune System Respiratory System Digestive System Structure and Function cont: Nervous System Endocrine System Cardiovascular System Urinary System Reproductive System Male Female Required In Maintaining Life Maintaining Boundaries Movement Responsiveness Digestion Metabolism Excretion Reproduction Growth Maintaining Boundaries Integumentary System Cellular Integrity Immune System Movement Skeletal System Muscles Inner-workings Blood/Lymph Foodstuffs Urine Airflow Responsiveness Referred to as irritability, or ability to sense changes (stimuli) in the environment and respond to them. This includes pain reflex, lack of oxygen, temperature sensation responses. All are necessary to survive due to changes in the environment. Responsiveness Sensory Nervous/Integumentary System Chemical Sensory /Detoxification System Excretion System Immune System Energetic System Emotional Psychological System Digestion Breaks down ingested foodstuffs into simple molecules that can be absorbed into the bloodstream. The nutrients are then carried to the cells of the body. This function services the total organism. Digestion Parotid Mouth / Jaw Stomach Pancreas Liver Gallbladder Small and Large Intestine Metabolism The “state of change” includes creating chemical reactions within the cells, and breaking down substances into simpler substances using nutrients and oxygen to produce ATP through cellular respiration. Metabolism Digestive—Nutrients Respiratory—Oxygen Cardiovascular—Distribution Endocrine /Hormone Regulation Excretion Liver Kidneys Bladder Large Intestine Lungs Integumentary Reproduction Sex Organs Sex Glands Testes Prostate Uterus Ovaries Growth Brain Endocrine System Hormone System Digestion/Metabolism Morphogenic Fields Survival=Necessities of Life Nutrients Oxygen Water Thermal Regulation Homeodynamic Regulation Nutrients Foods contain the chemical substances used for energy and cell building including carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, proteins and fats. Selected minerals and vitamins are necessary for cellular function and for oxygen transport in the blood. Oxygen All nutrients are useless unless oxygen is also available. Chemical reactions that release energy from foods are oxidative reactions and require oxygen. Without oxygen cells can only survive a few minutes. We gain and use oxygen from the air via respiration and cardiovascular systems. Water Water, an inorganic compound, comprises 60-80% of the volume of most living cells. It has incredible versatility in its various physical states as liquid, gas or solid, reflecting dynamic properties. As a fluid, it creates an environment for chemical reactions, body secretions and excretion. Thermal Regulation If chemical reactions are to continue to sustain life, normal body temperature must be maintained. If the temperature drops below 98 degrees F., metabolic reactions become slower and slower. If it becomes too high chemical reactions occur too rapidly, and body proteins lose their integrity. Thermal regulation is largely due to muscle mass. Balance The survival factors alone don’t sustain life, but without them there is no life. Also, if there is too much or too little of any one of them the homeostasis of the body systems can become jeopardized. Homeodynamic Regulation Homeostasis—Relative Balance Short Range Margins Limited Options Available Choices Are Critical Homeodynamic—Capacity to Adapt Wide Range Margins Multiple Options Available Choices Become Less Critical Homeostasis/Homeodynamics Communication within the body is essential to maintain homeodynamics. Communication is accomplished chiefly by the nervous system and endocrine system using electrical signals or bloodborne hormones as information carriers. Control systems need communication and feedback. Control Feedback Systems Stimulus (The Variable) Receptor (Sensor) Using Afferent Pathway Control Center Creates Set Point Using Efferent Pathway Effector (Feedback) Changing the Stimulus Positive & Negative Feedback Positive: exaggeration of the original stimulus so that the activity or output is accelerated. Negative: reduction of the original stimulus in order to reduce or minimize the activity. Feedback Systems Hormone Production Blood Clotting Glucose/Insulin Glucagon/Glucose Reserves Cardiovascular Blood Pressure Psycho-Emotional Response Psycho-Sensory Response Disease “Homeostasis is so important that most disease is regarded as a result of its disturbance, a condition called homeostatic imbalance.” Marieb pg 11 Meridian Healing System The meridian system is used to heal the body. The information needed to aid in tissue repair is carried in the photometric energy flow. If the tissues are severely damaged or the meridian flow is reduced, the healing process is much slower. Energy Flow The meridians flow throughout the body, including the teeth. Its flow creates coherency. Disturbed energy flow in any area in the body will impair the necessary flow of information. These areas are called “foci”. Assessment of Focal Disturbances Patient Intake Functional Relationship Correlates Re-occurrences (chicken pox-shingles) Bionetic Stress Testing Meridian Stress Evaluation Healing process, events and results. Objective Methods Survey the overall energetic conditions Assess the body’s resistance capacity Discover the weakness of specific organs Determine stress of organs: acute, chronic, or overstress Determine organ of involvement: the key organ disturbing overall coherence Objective Methods cont: Unravel cause and effect relationships— otherwise known as the causal chain Determine the “source” of the causal chain: functional-physiological and/or psycho-physiological. Disease is goal oriented. According to the principles of homotoxicology, the disease process is progressive. As one organ or gland becomes weakened to the point of malfunction, symptoms progressively stem from deeper and more complicated cause-and-effect relationships with other related organs and glands. Foci-Focal Disturbances Fields of disturbance or Focal Disturbances can be caused by various influences on the body. The influence of these disturbances involves functional distress to the body’s capacity to be responsive to continued stressors. Additional Discovery Discover uncovered processes in motion Find focal infections Energetic/functional assessment organs Immune system and related glands Quantity of available energy: weak/strong Overall health constitution Emotional stress and disturbances Finding refractory effects such as allergies Be Process Oriented Focus on the process of creating balance in the body rather than avoiding or negating the presenting symptoms. Symptoms are not the cause of the illness, nor is the alleviation of symptoms the presence of health. Etiology of Chronic Illness Retoxification—Impaired Enzymes Reduced Immune Function Poisoning Local Infection—Chronic Viral/Bacterial Tissue Damage—Insult or Injuries Iatrogenic Insults Geopathic Stress Etiology of Chronic Illness cont: Psychogenic overstress: prolonged emotional conflicts, depression, psychosomatic disorders Chronic Fungal Infections Dental Foci Nutritional Disorders Impaired Enzyme Function Special Causes Rapid proliferation of ecological problems such as environmental toxins. New advances in synthetic drugs. Organism can no longer “resist and adapt” Regulation and feedback systems reduced or impaired Special Causes cont: Proliferation in immuno-deficiencies. Metal-based disturbances. Dystrophic (junk) foods—enzyme deprived, refined, chemically treated Bioengineered Foods(DNA/pesticides) Poor eating habits, lack of essentially sound and proper nutrition. Special Causes cont: Form and Function-Bite (TMJ) Osteo-Infections Teeth/Jaw/Mastoid/Sinus Bones Dental Procedures Materials Procedures--Root Canals, Bridges, Implants Common Intoxicants Salmonella—food Heavy Metals—fillings, food, pesticides Insecticides, Pesticides—Food, Exposure Viral Toxins—past viral infections Fungal Toxins—mycotoxins, infections Bacterial Toxins—bacilli, coli, proteus, clostridia, bowel organisms Bacterial Infections Salmonella Shigella Cholera Streptococcus Staphylococcus E. coli Enterococcus Tetanus Clostridium Vaccine Infections Tetanus Diphtheria Small Pox Heavy Metals Lead Mercury Cadmium Viral Infections Hepatitis, different strains Influenza, various strains Herpes, different strains Measles Chicken Pox Cytomegalo, Coxsackie Epstein—Barr Fungal Infections Aflatoxins Ochratoxins, Molds Candidiasis Toxins Ergot (Rye) Smut (Hay, Grass etc.) Airborne Fungal Toxins Environmental Toxins Insecticides Pesticides Fungicides Herbicides Dyes, Colors, Flavor Enhancers (MSG) Preservatives Petrochemicals: Gas, Solvents, Cleaners Industrial Toxins Chromium Nickel Acids Radioactive Substances Arsenic Aluminum Antimony Heavy Metals Iatrogenic Intoxicants Antibiotics/Sulphonamides Corticosteroids Gold Hormones Psychotherapeutics (Prozac) Anthelmintics/Alkalizers (Zantac) Thyrotherapeutics (Synthroid) Individuation and Affinity The effects of a toxin are completely individualized due to the adaptability, responsiveness and capacity of the organism. The specific affinity of a particular toxin to a particular organ or organ system is more easily found. Symptoms are multifaceted. Salmonella Intoxication Biliary Migraine Depression Diarrhea Hypotension Cardiac Distress Perianal Eczema Dysbacteria Visual Problems Hip Joint Degeneration Fungus Overgrowth Eczemas Absorption/Metabolism Minerals Vitamins Trace Elements Fungal—Candidiasis It has been found that over 500 specific symptoms have been linked to chronic Candida infection. Due to the various strains found and metabolic responses within the organism, it becomes difficult to actually quantify the impact of such an infection on the organism. Affinity of Organs and Toxins Pancreas Insecticides, Pesticides Liver/GB Coli, Salmonella, Fungi Kidney Heavy Metals—Mercury CNS Heavy Metals—Mercury Liver Heavy Metals--All Bone Marrow Solvents, Cytoxics Impaired Energy Flow There is growing evidence that there is a link between physiological and psychological imbalances and energy. Any impairments to energy flow, regardless of the cause, eventually affect physical function, repair, and relationship within the organ systems of the body. Stress and Toxic Affinity “Furthermore, we know that during periods of excessive stress, emotional or physical, people inadvertently absorb toxins they had previously resisted.” Dr. Helmut Schimmel Functional Medicine Pg. 60 Biological Window Functional limitations in either sending or receiving photometric information and energy within a cell or organ represent a “refraction within the biological window.” Such refractions disturb coherency, including the quality and clarity of information and the ability to act upon it. Photometric Information Because much of the inner-communication is light-bearing, polarized light activates many functions within the body. For example, amino acids, which are constantly degrading and resynthesizing throughout the body, are classified to “bend polarized light.” L-forms bend the light to the left and D-forms bend the light to the right. Dr. Donald Lepore The Ultimate Healing System Causal Chain Organ Relationships The organs send and receive energy from one another in a specific cycle. The cycles include tonification and action. If there is a functional imbalance, it effects an energetic and later physiological disturbance in the matrix. The physiological or “functional switches” within the matrix or mesenchymal tissue cannot fully activate and therefore impair the flow of energy and communication within the body. Energetic relationship between bile ducts and ureters, otherwise known as hepatorenal syndrome. Pathogenic Pattern #1 cont: Irritations or inflammations of the cranial mucous membranes and paranasal sinuses exert stress on the urogenital system. Pathogenic Pattern #2 BD Pa LI Ureter Sinus Sm Int Kidney MM Lg Int Pathogenic Pattern #2 Includes pattern #1 with the addition of disturbances of the small and large intestine, predominately dysbiosis. This goes together with a toxic stress of the liver and irritation of the cranial mucous membranes. It is all mediated through the small and large intestine meridians. Pathogenic Pattern #3 BD LI Pa Sinuses MM Ureter Kidney Prostate/Uterus Testic/Ovary Pathogenic Pattern #3 Adding to the basic foundation of #1 and #2, pattern #3 includes disturbances of the urogenital system. This broadening of the patterns stems from the energetic relationship between the pancreas and the prostate or the pancreas with the ovaries respectively. Pathogenic Pattern #3 It can also occur as a result of a focal event between the ear, nose and throat, and the prostate or ovarian adnexa. Pathogenic Pattern #4 BD LI Pa Sinuses MM Ureter Kidney Sm Int Lg Int Prostate/Uterus Testic/Ovary Pathogenic Pattern #4 Building on all previous patterns, #4 includes the additional overstress of the genitourinary system by recurrent dysbiotic overgrowth of fungal infections. Nutritive support and education Self awareness and emotional foci Holistic Therapeutics Spirit-Awareness Mind-True Understanding Body-Knowledge True healing begins with awareness Energetic Therapeutics Photometrics Homeopathy Phytotherapy Nosode/Sarcode Therapy Flower Essences Essential Oils Always Know the “What” As a practitioner, you will know the “what.” It is important for you to learn to know the “why” and then teach the principles well enough so that the client gains a knowledge that they can relate to, understand, and implement. The Philosophy of Balance Focus on empowering the client, not on your performance as a practitioner. Focus on the process of balance, not on the outcome or resolution of their presenting symptomatology. Client Projection and Ego It’s easy as a practitioner to “look” smart in order to make the client “need” you. It is much more difficult when consulting to eliminate your ego while empowering the client. If the client projects onto the practitioner, the process does not lead toward ultimate healing.
