Elements of Competency
•
Each unit of study is composed of elements of
competency
•
Manage Project Scope comprises 3 elements of
competency –
1. Conduct project authorisation activities
2. Conduct project scope definition activities
3. Manage application of scope controls
•
Elements of competency are further broken down into
performance criteria, these can be found on the next
slides
BSBPMG501A Manage Application of Project Integrative Processes
1. Conduct Project Authorisation Activities
1. Project authorisation is confirmed with a higher authority
as the basis for future project management activity and
commitment of resources and effort
• This includes assigning responsibilities for Change
Control and decision making with respect to material
changes to Time, Cost and Scope.
• This is commonly performed in conjunction with Project
Integration Management
• The Project Charter is the initial document which
authorises the start of a project, this is performed as
part of Project Integration Management
