MISSION: The Harambe Cameroon Ambassadors’ Mentorship Programme (HCAMP) is a programme whose mission is to encourage young Cameroonians not only to develop their leadership skills but also to improve their ability in solving problems in their environment which would be beneficial to their communities. This programme fits within the vision that Harambe Cameroon has to inspire young Cameroonians to get actively involved in solving the problems of the community and our nation as a whole. 2. OBJECTIVES: Being a Harambe Ambassador is done through a personal training, self-fulfilment and a leadership behaviour which permit everyone to create and activate the dormant leadership skills in him/her for a bright and prosperous future in an ever-changing world. The programme permits every affiliated youth to be able to stand out in the cloud through his/her skills acquired during his/her Harambe Ambassador training. At the end of this training, every participant will be able to present an assessment of his/her training that will focus on his/her participation as an Ambassador. LAUNCHPAD PROGRAMME 1. MISSION AND OBJECTIVES OF THE HARAMBE AMBASSADOR: With the aim of finding solutions to daily problems, Harambe Ambassadors will dedicate four hours of their time per week to work as volunteers for their community-based development by identifying any problems and solving them. Each ambassador is free to programme the four hours according to his/her own schedule. These four hours per week could be organized as follows: i. Meeting and interviewing workers (1 hour): Every month, Harambe will have a theme representing Cameroonian workers in specific informal job sectors. For example, November could be the month of “call box agents”, December the month of “hairdressers” and January the month of “taximen”. This activity would entail identifying ten workers in the theme of the month, with whom the volunteer would discuss their current job, the challenges they face, and the opportunities they need to improve on their performance. By the end of the month, the ambassador should propose a solution to help reduce the interviewees’ challenges. Deliverables: The volunteer should provide (1) an excel file outlining the person’s name, activity sector, phone number, email address (if they don’t have an email, help them create one), the interviewee’s objective in life, major challenges in their current profession, how they can improve their current status; and (2) a photo of the ambassador(s) in action during the meeting/interviews with the workers. These pictures will be used to regularly communicate about our ambassadors’ engagement on our social networks. ii. Problem-solving challenges (1 hour): Ambassadors should set up an hour in their week to incite 3-100 people, in their communities, school campuses, families, to identify a challenge and transform that challenge into an opportunity. Deliverables: The volunteer should provide two paragraphs explaining the activity they organized, with a photo attached. These two paragraphs should describe the audience you worked with, the problem(s) identified, the solution(s) provided. These pictures are to be used to regularly communicate about our ambassadors’ engagement on our social networks. iii. Social networking (1hour): ambassadors should share their weekly stories to Harambe Cameroon for posting on Harambe’s Facebook page and Twitter to promote their actions and those for the association in Cameroon and the rest of the world. Volunteers should also share posts from Harambe website, and be active in the discussions on the Harambe page. Moreover, ambassadors can suggest some posts for publication on Harambe’s profiles. Deliverables: The volunteer should (1) post at least two contents from Harambe on his/her personal page per week; and (2) suggest posts for Harambe to publish, these can be about his/her duties as an ambassador or another subject he/she HARAMBE-CAMEROON – "TRANSFORMING OUR PROBLEMS INTO OPPORTUNITIES!" The Harambe administration will create a private group on Facebook (Ambassadors – Harambe Cameroon)where all the ambassadors would discuss and share their difficulties and experiences (whether good or bad) in order to help other members who are out of their region or absent on the online chat group. Deliverables: By Sunday evening, ambassadors must submit a one-page weekly activity report on the activities they organized in their region.
