PRESS RELEASE BRILON, MARCH 2012 EGGER FOUNDS FORESTRY COMPANY Enhanced wood supply security by purchasing standing timber Supplying the EGGER plants with wood is becoming more and more challenging. Increased demand from classic wood consumers and rising competition due to the thermal use of wood means new methods of procuring the raw material need to be explored. This is why the Tyrolean wood-based material manufacturer is now taking another consistent step in backwards integration: EGGER Forst GmbH will commence operation effective 1 st May 2012. Its task is to expand contract felling (purchasing standing timber) in Germany, to conduct the mechanised harvesting of wood and to offer optimised transportation and logistics solutions for delivery to the customer. “Our primary objective is to enhance the supply guarantee for our three wood processing EGGER plants in Germany, as well as supplying additional log wood volumes to the nearby plants in France and Austria,” Bertram Cramer explains. The company will be managed by Bertram Cramer, Head of Wood Buying in the EGGER Group and Thomas Heymann, National Manager Finance and Administration North-Western Europe at EGGER. The registered office of EGGER Forst GmbH will be in Brilon (Upper Sauerland). CLOSE PARTNERSHIPS WITH WOODLOT PROVIDERS AND WOOD PROCESSORS OWNERS, SERVICE EGGER Forst GmbH views itself as a service provider and partner between woodlot owners and the wood processing industry. EGGER is thereby extending its offer of cooperation to all government and municipal forestry operations, forestry associations and independent, private woodlot owners. Existing business relationships are to be further strengthened and new partnerships developed by selling all available products to external partners as well. EGGER Forst GmbH will offer integration via the CoSeDat portal to all of its partners in the value chain. This ensures the optimised, transparent, electronic flow of data in real time between woodlot owners, the service provider and the customer. Acceptance and trust in the partnership are facilitated. GOOD EXPERIENCES IN AUSTRIA AND GREAT BRITAIN EGGER Forst GmbH will be active across Germany. It is not the first company in the group to be engaged in supplying the plants with wood. EGGER Forestry Ltd. in Great Britain has been conducting contract felling since the beginning of the 90s in order to ensure the supply of raw materials to the Hexham and Barony plants. 01 PRESS RELEASE BRILON, MARCH 2012 HolzLogistikHandel (HLH) was founded in Austria in the year 2007.
