GENERAL SYNOD
HOUSE OF LAITY
If a reference to the Convocations and the House of Laity is
required under Article 7 of the Constitution of the General Synod in
relation to either draft Amending Canon No. 36 or draft Amending
Canon No. 37, or in relation to both these items of business, the
House of Laity will meet at 6.00 p.m. on Sunday 9 July 2017 in the
Central Hall, University of York.

Notes:
1. Members will be notified after lunch on Saturday 8 July whether
a reference to the Convocations and House of Laity under
Article 7 has been required in relation to either draft Amending
Canon No. 36 or draft Amending Canon No. 37, or both.
2. Under SO 10(ii) of the House, no amendment to either of the
motions shall be in order and it shall not be in order to move
Next Business, The Closure or The Speech Limit.
3. Under SO 96(1) of the General Synod, the terms in which the
business has been proposed by the House of Bishops may not
be amended.
4. A simple majority is required to carry each motion.
