Critically appraise assessments used by occupational therapists to assess cognitive capacity and discuss their relevance and application to an Asian population. Describe elements of an information processing model of 'applied' cognition that is based on the Perceive, Recall, Plan & Perform (PRPP) System of Task Analysis and incorporates dimensions of attention, perception, memory, higher cortical operations, executive function, initiation and followthrough with decisions. Identify 'applied' cognition, eg. cognitive strategy use, disorders from videotaped examples. Interpret and assessment report relevant findings from Establish and prioritize therapy goals. Design intervention that aims to improve cognitive strategy use during occupational performance or compensate for losses that will not change. Support decisions made with evidence, where available.
