The YSL training

different kinds
Inspiration 1) changed
what you think about the
benefits of PE/sport, 2)
changed how PE/sport is
delivered in your
school/community, 3)
impacted upon you
personally?
The IIP changed my idea about the benefits of sports. It has opened my
eyes to the fact that sports stands a chance of offering me a bigger and
brighter future. It has also offered students the privilege of learning and
participating in various sports/games apart from the local ones they are
used to. The programme has made me a better leader and coordinator
than I was.
How has International
Inspiration benefited the
children, families, schools
and communities involved
in the programme?
The programme has given us International links and created an
opportunity to share information with schools abroad about several
things. It has enabled the disabled to enjoy sports and appreciate PE. It
has also started building young leaders of tomorrow.
Do you have any examples
of the changes you’ve seen
on individual
colleagues/students’
attitudes/behaviour/
participation in PE/sport as
a result of their
involvement in the
programme?
What challenges have you
faced?
I have a friend, a student as well who is hearing impaired. Before the
IIP came to our school particularly the TOPS, he had no interest
whatsoever in sports because he felt he couldn’t participate. The TOPS
has helped get him involved. It has given him an equal chance to
participate in sports and he is confident enough now to try new games
including rugby & cricket.
Have any new partnerships
with other local schools,
sports clubs or community
groups been formed?
Legacy:

your school/organisation/

the lasting effect of this

young people?
Yes, partnerships with Eletu Edibo Senior High School & National
