WHEATLEY GROUP JOB PROFILE Job Details Job Title Equality & Diversity Advisor Location/ Section Employee Relations Service Area Chief Executive Report to Senior HR Advisor Grade SCP 39-42 Date Completed August 2013 Job Summary You will be expected to help deliver Group wide organisational interventions to ensure robust Equality and Diversity (E&D) practice with regards to staff that embed this concept across the Group. You will work closely with partners across the Group to promote the strategy and to make it real for all staff. You will be the first line of contact for managers and staff requiring guidance on E&D issues. You will be a visible and familiar face within the Group. You will understand the importance of working with partner agencies to achieve great outcomes. Best Practice Research, apply and promote diversity initiatives and best practice Conduct benchmarking exercise of current policy and procedure against external organisations Staff forums Design and facilitate staff forums and ensure that they are supported in order that they become self-sustaining, successful and have a real impact on supporting staff from different backgrounds throughout the group. Partnership working Foster and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders including trade union representatives Provision of training, coaching and mentoring to staff Evaluate existing training provision to ensure that it delivers on the aims of the strategy. Develop E-Learning programme Provide 1:1 coaching and mentoring as required Provide advice, guidance and support on E&D issues Act as main contact to all parts of the Wheatley Group for all staff-related E&D matters Change Behaviours Raise concerns through appropriate channels about any behaviour that may undermine equality, diversity and human rights and ensure that these are resolved Achieve accreditation Work with Policy/Research and Development teams to investigate, coordinate and achieve external recognition for E&D strategy and practice Co-ordinate Stonewall Workplace Equality Index submission As agreed through the My Contribution process Undertake review of all existing polices to ensure compliance Communicate changes to the Group Comply with and implement all Wheatley Group policies and procedures.
