New Life Church Job Description Job Title: NLC Events and Housekeeping Staff Accountable To: Events Director Status: Part time/Hourly: $8.00/Hour ($8.50/Hr after successful 90 day probation period) Sunday – Thursday (Rotating Saturdays & Large Events) 10:00am – 4:00pm Sundays, 8am – 2:30pm Monday - Thursday Job Titles Supervised: None Purpose: To serve the New Life Church campus by providing events set-up and tear-down services, general housekeeping and light-duty facilities maintenance. Essential Responsibilities: Events: o Perform set-up and tear-down of classrooms and multi-purpose rooms, which may include but is not limited to: 5’ and 8’ tables, folding chairs, stackable chairs, easels, podiums, round tables and other furniture or accessories. o Move furniture and equipment into and out of the buildings. o Open and close facilities according to reservations requests and campus calendar while monitoring lights, heat and air conditioning in order To ensure the comfort and safety of our guests, also coordinate needs of guests and interacting with event participants. o Operating in continual prayer over events and their attendees o Inspect facilities, noting maintenance and repair needs and filling out Task Requests. o Special projects as requested. Housekeeping: o Clean and disinfect tables and chairs in preparation for and the cleanup of an event. o Remove and dispose of all trash from buildings. o Perform general housecleaning duties as listed in the Instructions for Daily Responsibilities handbook. These duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Vacuum carpeted areas throughout the campus. Cleaning classrooms, and kitchens. Shampooing carpets and light-duty stain removal on an as-needed basis. Dusting furniture, counters, air vents, light fixtures, and other items regularly as needed. Wash and polish as needed: windows, baseboards, doors, door frames, door knobs and handles, light switches, hand rails, drinking fountains, elevator, fixtures, mirrors, dispensers and light switches in classrooms, offices, large rooms, public areas and other areas as designated by Team Leader. Clean all restrooms, including toilets, walls, lavatories, mirrors, and dispensers and restocking products as needed. Mop floors, Spot-clean fingerprints and handprints on walls using proper procedure. Stock and maintain cleaning supplies inventories throughout the buildings on an as-needed basis. Other: o Advance the Kingdom of God by representing Christ at all times in thought, action and speech. o Lead by verbal and physical example – supporting Team Leadership the daily development of the team and its members. o Support the raising, lowering and mending of WPC flags o Support painting and beautification projects o Support Grounds team in the removal of snow (including shoveling, operating snow blowers and spreading ice melt). o Respond to fire or security alarms as they occur. o Run general errands as requested. o Assist with traffic control in parking lot as requested. o Support New Life Church with your tithe. o Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment and complete the work necessary to fully serve and support the ministries of New Life Church. o o Attend regular staff meetings and additional meetings as required. Cooperate with the Executive Leadership, Director of Events, Events Administrator, Team Leaders and Reservations Coordinator by performing any other duties when asked to do so. NOTE: Job duties may be performed in an office environment, classroom, large multi-purpose room, kitchen, storage room or outdoors in any season. Use of ladders, carts, dollies and hand-trucks may be required. Physical Dexterity (Psychomotor Abilities) Required for Events Positions Static Strength - The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry objects. Stamina - The ability to exert yourself physically over long periods of time without getting fatigued. Trunk Strength - The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing. Multi-limb Coordination - The ability to coordinate two or more limbs together (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the body is in motion. Manual Dexterity – Adroitness in using the hands. Dynamic Strength - The ability to exert muscle force repeatedly or continuously over time. This involves muscular endurance and resistance to muscle fatigue. Extent Flexibility - The maximum range of motion possible at a particular joint or series of joints working together. Gross Body Equilibrium - The ability to keep or regain your body balance or stay upright when in an unstable position. Minimum Requirements Education: Part-time positions -- No specific requirement. Experience: provided. Commercial events and/or housekeeping experience preferred; fully paid 2-3 week training is General Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must have ability to follow a routine weekly schedule and complete assigned duties in a timely manner. Ability to read and carry out written and oral instructions. Ability to perform basic arithmetical functions. Ability to lift and carry up to 45 lbs. on a regular basis. Physical Requirements: Ability to work, walk and stand 6-8 consecutive hours per day. Ability to pay attention to detail. Good near and far vision is important. Must be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, arms, fingers, shoulders, etc. without cramping or tiring. Must be able to withstand occasional periods of commercial cleaning product exposure to skin and/or respiratory system, sometimes in closed areas.
