Swancote Energy at Swancote near Bridgnorth Shropshire was formed by Simon
and Edward Fox-Davies in 2010. Their aim was to develop an Anaerobic Digestion
plant capable of processing agricrop to generate electricity with the future potential to
process local food and other waste in an environmentally friendly way. The
installation of a state of the art Anaerobic Digestion facility by M.T. Energie followed
at the site in which has been fully operational since 2011.
Several suppliers were asked to quote for the CHP unit and Edina successfully bid to
provide the MWM TCG2016(CV12) with its capability of maximising revenue through
high efficiency gas to electricity conversion and its minimal downtime. This is
particularly vital when the cost of the feedstock
for gas production is a factor.

The TCG2016(CV12) has an output of 500kWe and Swancote Energy also opted for
a full Operation and Maintenance Contract through Edina who offer an 8000 hour per
year availability guarantee, remote monitoring and instant nationwide engineering
support.
Based on the success of this initial phase, Edina was asked to supply a MWM
TCG2020(CV16) with an output of 1.5 MWe as Swancote Energy expanded to meet
the local need for waste processing. Gas is provided from a mixture of raw and
cooked food and drink waste, Swancote having the capability to process 38,000
tonnes per year. The waste is treated in the process to meet Category 3 animal byproduct Regulations. Again the genset was designed and packaged by dedicated
teams at Edina in the UK, from order to supply in six months and was commissioned
in October 2012.
The total electrical generation capacity is currently 2.06 MWe, sufficient to power
over four thousand homes and providing
possible power revenue of £2.4 million per year.
