It has been the craze of the year and now you have the opportunity to join the Cowal Family
Learning Academy Pokemon Go Trainers club. Learn how to play the game safely and join us as
we hunt Pokemon around Dunoon, learning about our town and its history as well as improving
IT skills in the process. Can you catch them all?

Robots and Drones
Fans of BBC Robot Wars will love, love, love our practical hands-on Robots and Drones club.
Parents and children will build programmable robots and flying drones. A fantastic introduction
to creative technologies you will not want to miss!

Cool Coding for Families
Could you or your child be the next Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg or Lila Tretikov? Join us for a
fun hands-on, family introduction to computer coding and software development.
Learn to program using fun interactive tutorials based around Minecraft, Star Wars and Frozen.

Keep up with the Kids in S1 Maths
Support your child with their learning in S1 Mathematics. Learn the content of the S1
Mathematics course at Dunoon Grammar School and develop strategies that will allow you to
support your child with home learning to reinforce their in class learning.

Thursday Night at the Movies
Families are invited to join Dunoon Primary for a weekly film club. Parents and children will be
encouraged to engage in the benefits of watching movies of different genres with follow-up
discussions around literacy.

The legendary Bookbug is back! With a Cowal Family Learning Academy twist! Sing, clap and
dance along with your child in our fantastic outdoor sessions— brought to you in partnership
with the Cowal Family Pathway. So get wrapped up and come along for sessions that will boost
your child’s confidence, social skills, speech and language development.

Surprise and amaze your wider family and friends at your next social gathering—with your newly

will allow you to approach and support your teenager with issues important to them.
ALIenergy’s Energy Champions
Forget the BBC’s Eat Well for Less—join us for ‘Heat well for less!’ Spending too much on your
energy bills? ALIenergy will help you to improve your understanding of energy efficiency in the
home. Learn to manage your energy use and budget effectively to pay for your energy. Learn to
identify and signpost people in fuel poverty to further support. Career prospects in the energy
sector will also be highlighted.

with your job applications.

The day will soon arrive when your child will leave Dunoon Grammar for pastures new. To help
prepare your child for life beyond DGS, Skills Development Scotland work closely with your child Parents of children who attend
at all stages of secondary school. Join us for a hands-on practical exploration of this SDS support Dunoon Grammar
as well as the additional career focused opportunities offered by Dunoon Grammar to your
child—including the Excite initiative and skills for work courses.
