Chapter 4: questions 1, 2(b), 2(c), and 3. Chapter 5: questions 1(a), 3, 5, and 6.
Practicum experiment
Submit a 2-3 page paper that summarizes the following exercise.
1. Perform a randomized experiment involving 30 observations. The experiment may
involve any subject matter you like so long as you (a) do not do anything harmful,
destructive, illegal, deceptive, or unethical and (b) perform all of the data collection
and analysis yourself. Note that the experiment must utilize random assignment.
Non-randomized experiments will receive no credit.
2. Describe the setting in which your experiment took place. Describe the treatment
and outcome variables in your experiment.
3. Explain how you randomized the assignment to treatment and control groups.
4. Produce a graph or table that conveys your estimate of the ATE. If you encounter
noncompliance, estimate the ITT, the compliance rate, and the CACE.
5. Test the sharp null hypothesis of no effect.
6. Interpret your results.
