hotpot.

thanked the New Zealand Consulate General and the New Zealand Society
for their invitation.
A light supper was served and the evening ended about 10.30

English in the jungle! Mr Louwerse’s experience.
1-English helped me become friends with a local in Sabah on the island of Borneo.
2-My friend invited me to his cousin’s wedding which was deep in the jungle.
3-I spent 3 days at the celebrations.
4-Here are some of the photos.
5-We traveled by river canoe.
6-We carried gifts of chickens, calves, ancient jars and brass gongs.
7-The jars were 100 years and older, and made in other parts of Asia and especially
China.
8-They were used for making rice-wine and preserving foods.
9-The people were very friendly, hospitable and welcoming.
10-After three days we returned to my friend’s home village.
Advice on Improving English (links attached)
One of the best ways to improve your English is to do something you like with the
language. So reading for pleasure, books that you like and stories that you like, is
very important. Another good way to learn English is through music. One
interesting topic we learnt about was animals and this is the song ‘Pollywog in a Bog’.
