How can you help your child with
Chinese
•
Immerse your child in Mandarin
Encourage them to listen to Mandarin songs and talk to his/ her Chinese
friends. Write your weekly menu in Chinese. In these ways, the use of
Mandarin becomes practical to him.
•
Verbalise your actions
We normally describe our actions to students in Mandarin in class. They will
learn what they hear and see, eventually pick up the language.
• Read with your child
If you can not read with your child, use the digital resources to help. It can
reinforce the vocabulary picked up from the book.
• Learn with your child
The more you use the language, the more it will sharpen what you had learnt
during your school days. You will be surprise that it will come back to you.
