Installing the printer in on your PC (Windows XP/Vista/7/8)

Technical Details:
Shared printing facilities are available for ATP Innovations companies. The printer is
located in Suite 125 next door to reception.
At present the application will only work on PCs running Microsoft Windows
XP/Vista/7/81.
You will need to use your 4 digit photocopier code that is issued to new companies
on arrival at ATP Innovations. If you don’t know this or have forgotten, ask at
reception.
The following instructions were prepared on a Windows XP machine, but should
apply with no or little change to a Windows Vista/ 7/8 machine.
Please note that at this stage, extended functionality (stapling, folding etc) is not
supported.
Installing the printer in on your PC (Windows XP/Vista/7/8)
Step 1: Obtain the Relevant driver
Browse to http://www.fujixerox.com.au and click on “Support & Downloads, then
“Drivers & Downloads”, and in the “Select a product family” dropdown select
“DocuCentre” and press “go”. From the following page select “DocuCentre IV

Currently Apple Mac OS X is not supported due to lack of a testing environment. If you run Mac OS X and would like to
use the network printer, please contact ATPi IT and we will assist you (and update this document).

Printing from Linux (and other Unixes) is not supported due to lack of drivers. The motivated user might experiment with
porting the OS X driver themselves.

C6680" (Note the "IV”) and follow the prompts to download the latest driver for
your operating system. Note: do not download the Postscript (PS) driver – you want
the PCL driver.
This will be distributed as a zip file. Unzip this somewhere you can remember (e.g.
Desktop).
Step 2: Add the printer
If you just need the technical details, not assistance, please see the end of this
document. You will, however, need to set up authentication, which is covered in Step
3: Authentication.
Go to Start (bottom left hand of screen) > Printers and Faxes and click “Add a
printer”
Click Next

Click “Install a local printer”, but do not have Windows automatically detect it.
Create a new Standard TCP/IP port and click next

When the new wizard opens, click “next”
And next again

And enter the IP Address 59.167.66.207. The Port Name will automatically fill itself
out. Click “next” again. An error may occur in certain firewalls and your IT network
manager may need to enable outgoing connections to 59.167.66.207 port 515 (lpd).
Now, click Custom Settings

And set protocol to LPR (not Raw), give your Printer Queue a name, and press OK.
When Windows asks for the Driver, click “Have Disk”.

And Browse to the location of the driver you downloaded in Step 1, then click OK.
You will get a choice of three printers, choose FX DocuCentre-IV C6680 PCL 6.

FX DocuCentre 9000 PCL 6 may be suggested for the printer. You must choose “FX
DocuCentre-IV C6680 PCL 6”
If you are given the option, you may choose to set the printer as the default.

You can share the printer with other machines on your local network if you wish.
Do not print a test page.
And we’re finished. Click Finish.

If you are warned about compatibility or testing or driver signing, continue anyway.
This is just irritating boilerplate.
Step 3: Authentication
You will need your printer ID. If you don’t know this, or have forgotten, ask at ATP
Innovations reception. It is a 4 digit number. You will need to have administrator
privileges on the local machine for this step. It might also be a good idea to set the
printer to Black and White by default in this step – you will be charged for colour
printing.
Right click on the FX DocuCentre-IV C6680 PCL 6 and go to properties.

Click “configuration”, then change account mode to “Administrator” and click
“Detailed User Settings”.

Click “Use Default User Settings” and change the “User ID Options” dropdown to
“Enter Owner Name”, then enter your “Job Owner Name” as your 4 digit ID. Leave
all other settings.

Click OK and you’re done!
