GOAL II – SOCIAL/EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Foster an environment conducive to the social and emotional development of our
children, laying the foundation for them to become caring and responsible individuals.
OBJECTIVE

Survey local schools (grades 6-8) to determine leagues/sports that are
currently available.
Meet with town recreation officials for articulation.
Determine costs/options associated with operating the sport(s) team(s)
and present to the Superintendent/Board for consideration & approvals.
Based on approvals, job description for coaches will be developed and
approved by the BOE.
Based on approvals, coach positions will be posted and filled for the 20152016 school year.

Research individuals/firms with experience in redistricting/ reconfiguration.

Interviews and select the vendor based on their scope of work and experience
in other districts.
•
Review study submitted by vendor.
•
Requests principals to complete a space utilization survey on their school.
•
Complete all data work to include map creation downloading and address
matching of students, drawing in current attendance zones and school
locations, verification of the map data, updating and analyzing current
enrollment projections and review utilization of current elementary schools.
•
Create options and review these with the district and Board of Education.
Findings will be prepared and presented to the public.
•
Changes and / or adjustments recommendation to the findings will be provided
on the Districts Website.
•
Adopts plan by Board of Education in time for budget preparation,
transportation changes and for public awareness .
