HOMES FIRST
Who we are…
There are over 5,000 people in Toronto without a safe stable
place to live. Homes First provides affordable and appropriate
housing to over 550 men, women and children.
We provide housing first. With a home, people gain respect, dignity and the
ability to care for themselves and others.
Homes First was the first and remains one of the largest non-profit
providers of homes for people with the fewest options in Toronto.
What we do….
Our mission is to provide
affordable, stable housing and
support services to break the cycle
of homelessness.
Why we do it…
Because everyone needs a home.
In 2015 Homes First provided the following value to community
 1,928 of referrals and connections to community partners
 107,700 of meals served
 351 people in supportive housing (including children)
 60,800 of nights of emergency shelter:
 23 former CAMH patients now living at a Homes First
property
Cost of 1 year at CAMH: $250,000
Cost of 1 year at Homes First: $30,000
Savings: $5,720,000/year
TIE ONE ON
May 11, 2016 ~ 6pm-9pm
The Mod Club
Tie One On brings together Torontonians to raise funds
to help house the homeless with an evening of bids, beverages
and beats.
Event highlight – an auction
focused on gifts celebrating Toronto

Why?
Toronto is one of the most exciting cities in the world – home to
entrepreneurs, artists, athletes, politicians – and you! Each
person is a thread in the diverse fabric of our city and together we
make the weave stronger.
On May 11, help provide a home for those who don’t have one in
our city. Bid on a list donated by some of Toronto’s most influential
people and many other unique items while dancing to live local
music.
Our feature item, once again this year will be a little-known
piece of Toronto– the artistic work of Homes First’s
residents. We’re thrilled to showcase for our second year:
Wanda’s Arts Awards, a bursary program supporting our
residents who use art to cope and heal.
