Pedal Cycle Thefts
During the month of March there has been four reported crimes of theft of a pedal cycle within the
Team London Bridge area. The main areas of concern are around More London Estates and Tooley
Street, SE1. No offenders were arrested however two local youths known for this offence had Anti
Social Behaviour Orders served against them at a local Magistrates Court. Certain restrictions have
been placed on these two individuals concerning them being in possession of any pedal cycle and
causing Anti Social Behaviour in general. Again the known “Hot Spots” for this offence have
remained quiet. Any cyclist who would like a free cycle security assessment should contact
Riverside Safer Neighbourhoods team on 079 2023 3918.
Regarding the Commercial Robbery at Hays Galleria on 2nd January 2010, a male who was arrested
shortly after the incident remains on extended bail whilst Police continue along their lines of
enquiry.
During this month there have been twelve reported incidents of theft from café’s and public houses
in the area.
Begging although reduced has not completely vanished from the area and individuals are still being
approached and their particulars recorded for intelligence purposes. It would appear that two or
three persons are continuing to come to notice and various agencies are working together to direct
them towards appropriate support services.
Illegal gambling activities are still continuing, Please spread the word to co-workers, friends and
family that these are criminal gangs who trick members of the public into losing their money.
