E-Newsletter Issue 1, September 2014 Ready, set, go! Hopefully you all enjoyed your summer holidays and are ready to join the large network of schools and cities playing the Traffic Snake Game. The aim of the Traffic Snake Game is to encourage young children (aged 4-12) to travel sustainably to school. Over the past few months, many preparations have been made to get the campaign ready for its first year. All the campaign materials have been produced and the new website has been launched: www.trafficsnakegame.eu In the UK, we will begin playing the game in Sping 2015. We already have some schools ready to start and of course, we are looking for more. We encourage schools to run the Traffic Snake Game during European Mobility Week in October 2014 or Walk to School Week in May 2015 to take advantage of any existing activities already taking place. Register now! To register to join the campaign, all you need to do is contact us! How to play A campaign video was made to show teachers, city representatives and others how easy the campaign is and how it works. The original video is in English, but we provided <language> subtitles for you in <language>. Please have a look at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20fOQssCzPoLor Brand new website, especially for you! To meet the needs of schools and partners, a new website has been launched. The website is conveniently organised in two parts, the general EU website and the national country pages. On the EU part of the website, stakeholders all over Europe can find out what the project is about, which partners are involved and which schools are participating. On the country pages schools and stakeholders can find out all the project information in their local language. Each school will have a login on the website, allowing them to easily measure the impact of the campaign. Each school will also have a public page where they can showcase the results of the campaign and promote their other activities. More country news Northamptonshire County Council have joined the UK TSG and have already provided 20 schools to play! We are looking for more schools so anyone interested should just get in touch.
