Dear Friends,
Thank you for your interest in membership in the East Valley Boys Service Club (EVBSC), a Parent-Son
philanthropy organization. Our “Mission Statement” reads as follows:
The East Valley Boys Service Club is committed to providing philanthropic opportunities to
young men and their parents in order to foster the lifelong desire to give back to their
community.
EVBSC is composed of boys from 6th through 12th grade. Currently, our membership includes 140 boys and
their parents. The philanthropies that EVBSC has chosen to support for this year are:

Our Membership Drive for the 2017-2018 year has begun and will run through March 31, 2017. If you wish to
apply for membership, please complete the following forms:

• Member Agreement
• Prospective Member Information Form
These forms along with your payment for registration should be postmarked NO LATER THAN MARCH 31,
2017.
You will be notified in early April if your membership application has been accepted. Please note that all new
members are expected to attend the New Member Mixer which will be held in April 2017. Information
with details of the specific location and time will be forthcoming.
We appreciate your interest in the East Valley Boys Service Club. We look forward to receiving your

EVBSC MEMBER AGREEMENT
New Member
Membership in the East Valley Boys Service Club (EVBSC) is a privilege. Each member has the obligation
and the responsibility to uphold the high moral standards of the EVBSC. You, as a member, help by your
attitude, your conversation, and your behavior. This set of standards is provided as a guide for your conduct.
Please read it carefully and take seriously the commitment that your signature represents.
1. I agree to complete the required number of Philanthropy hours per year as an EVBSC member –
minimum 10 hours for 6th & 12th graders; minimum 15 hours for 7th through 11th graders. The
Philanthropy service hours will be filled from a select group of charity organizations.
2.
I will also attend a minimum of two (2) general meetings per year.
3. I will see that my dress and grooming reflect good taste and judgment. I will dress in my EVBSC T-shirt
for philanthropy events.
4. I will conduct myself within the bounds of accepted standards of good taste and with consideration for
others. I will respect the property and privacy of others. I am aware that my behavior in a group must
always reflect high standards.
5. I hereby grant permission for photographs of my son(s) to be taken during East Valley Boys Service
Club events. These photographs may be used on the EVBSC website (www.evbsc.org) and/or with other
marketing materials (pamphlets, flyers, newspaper articles, etc.). I understand that the boy(s)’ names
will not be disclosed unless permission is first obtained from the parent.
6. I will take my commitments seriously. When I sign up for a philanthropy event, I will arrive on time,
perform my duties as instructed and fulfill my assignment to the best of my abilities. I understand that
I shall be responsible for finding a substitute if I am unable to fulfill my commitment. If a substitute
is not found, I am responsible for contacting the philanthropy liaison prior to the service date.
7. I understand that one parent/guardian must hold at least one leadership position in EVBSC during each
son’s membership in the club.
8. I understand that I am required to observe all local and state laws regarding driving, and the use of
alcohol and/or the use of illegal substances when participating in an EVBSC activity is strictly
prohibited.
9. I accept the fact that if I fail to fulfill my responsibilities as a member of EVBSC, the Board of Directors
may initiate proceedings that could result in probation or termination of my membership.
Being an EVBSC member is a privilege and with that privilege comes responsibility. By signing this
agreement, I acknowledge that responsibility. The cooperation of both son and parent/guardian is needed to
maintain these standards.
