Water Agency
Municipality
• Staff from water agency works with staff from
Municipality for the financial support application
• All data from these applications are stored in a database
in the Agency in order to have « Reference Costs » for
WWTP
• The amount of the financial support will be calculated on
a value of the Investment taking into account these
reference costs

2. The role of the Water Agency in financing the wastewater
treatment
• Financial approach : the type of financial support (Subsidies +
Soft Loan ) has been modified to cover a larger part of the
financing
• The level of the financial support can be decreased in time in
order to create an incentive for Municipalities to implement
Waste Water Treatment Plant faster (and comply with the
Urban Waste Water Directive)
• The functionning costs of the Waste Water Treatment Plant is
also partially financially supported by the Water Agency and
the efficiency of the WWTP promoted (Arethuse award)
