The Education Manager is a role within the College for Learning and Development and is accountable to
the Dean for:

developing competency based learning models and methodologies that meet the Australian
Qualifications Training Framework (AQTF).

managing the delivery, assessment and evaluation of learning and development programs which
support the Department for Families and Communities’ (DFC) strategic initiatives.

developing and maintaining effective strategic partnerships with key internal and external
stakeholders.

providing leadership to the College to deliver quality education services in line with the Department’s
strategic plan.

Dean, College for Learning and Development (direct manager)

Facilitators of learning (report to this role)

College managers

Executive and senior management of DFC

Work collaboratively with staff in specific functional areas in the Department

External training providers

Other government departments/agencies

Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Record
Check (NCHRC) prior to being employed and every three years.

Intrastate travel to regional locations.

Current drivers licence.

Workplace Training and Assessor Qualification (Certificate IV in Training and Assessment) and/or
other tertiary qualification in education or training.

Leadership and Management

Contribute to effective leadership and management of the College for Learning and
Development and promote quality, innovation and service improvement.

Management and development of direct reports and accountability for allocated functional
responsibilities.

Provide leadership and specific advice in relation to compliance with workplace and other
related legislation in accordance with organisational and Registered Training Organisation
requirements.

Lead the allocated team to deliver quality services in line with the State Strategic Plan and
DFC’s Strategic Agenda.

Provide appropriate management of resources and risks including finance and learning and
development resources.

Monitor and review learning and development policies and procedures to make them
consistent across the organisation.

Promote and maintain compliance with learning and development requirements for the
standards for Registered Training Organisations.

Lead the development and implementation of learning and development projects.

Represent the DFC in committees, forums and working groups at the State and National
level in relation to implementation of government strategies.

Develop and maintain effective strategic networks and partnerships with key internal and
external stakeholders.

Lead and add value to the College for Learning and Development by maintaining
professionalism and a commitment to a customer focussed service delivery.

DFC.
