Travel Credit Terms and Conditions
Effective from 2 December 2016
1. American Express® Platinum Reserve Credit Card, Card Members
are eligible for one $400 Travel Credit each anniversary year.
2. The $400 Travel Credit can be redeemed against any single eligible
travel booking of $400 or more where applicable when booking
online through americanexpress.com.au/travel.
3. The Travel Credit can be used for 365 days from date of issue and
cannot be carried forward to any subsequent year.
4. Card Members are only able to redeem one Travel Credit per
booking. If a Card Member holds more than one Travel Credit
across multiple American Express® Cards, the Travel Credit which is
eligible is that which is due to expire first.
5. Card Members who hold another American Express Card enrolled
in a Membership Rewards program other than Membership
Rewards Ascent, or which offers a Travel Credit in addition to the
one offered on their American Express Platinum Reserve Credit
Card, or who are enrolled in the Care program will need to call
Priority Service on 1800 059 388 to redeem the Travel Credit.
6. To redeem the Travel Credit, the Card Member must have paid
the annual fee and have paid the minimum payment on the Card
Member’s first and most recent American Express Platinum Reserve
Credit Card statement by the due date. The minimum amount is
calculated as set out in the Financial Table.
7. When booking with a Travel Credit the Card Member must provide
their American Express Credit Card details at the checkout.
8. Supplementary Card Members are not eligible for this benefit.
9. Refunds are subject to the Airline cancellation policy. The
amount refunded will be the value of the booking, less Airline
and American Express Cancellation fees. In an instance where
an American Express $400 Travel Credit was redeemed, upon
cancellation the Travel Credit value will be forfeited.
10. Changes to bookings are permitted subject to Airline terms and
conditions. Booking amendment fees may apply.
11. American Express Membership Rewards points will not be earned
on the $400 Travel Credit portion of the booking.
12. Travel credit redemption made online through
americanexpress.com.au/travel, is applicable to eligible pre-paid
Flight, Hotel, car hire and experience bookings only.
13. The Travel Credit may not be used towards Cruises. Low cost
carriers are excluded.
14. The Travel Credit may not be used towards hotel and car hire
bookings where payment is made directly to the supplier.
