Manufacturing Supervisor
Description: Directs and coordinates the activities of the assembly department. Plans and establishes
work schedules, assignments, and assembly sequences to meet production goals – weekly, monthly and
quarterly. Enforces product standards based on established company policies and procedures. Ensures
all work is completed with the proper equipment and safety procedures are being followed. Reads and
analyzes submittal drawings, sales orders, and production schedules to determine assembly priorities
and requirements and confers with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or
between departments. Recommends or implements measures to motivate employees, improve
production methods, equipment performance, product quality or efficiency. Ensures all employees are
trained in assembly methods/procedures. Will have knowledge of all products types and configurations
to include UL standards. Responsible to lead, train and monitor the work of others

Directs and coordinates the work of assembly personnel.
Leads and trains assembly personnel regarding quality, productivity and safety.
Enforces product standards and ensures work is completed in accordance with deadlines.
Performs assembly-type functions, using hand or power tools.
Operates wire cutter machine and staple gun.
Operates fork lift if authorized and trained.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
•
Production and Processing - Knowledge of all assembly production processes, quality control,
and other techniques for maximizing the effective assembling of products.

Administration and Management – Knowledge of business and management principles
involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership
techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
•
Education and Training - Knowledge of principles and methods for training, teaching and
instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
•
Coordination - Adjusting your actions in relation to others’ actions. Must have good eye-hand
coordination and dexterity.

Reading Comprehension - Understanding sales orders and submittal drawings as related to
specific jobs.

High school diploma or GED required. Additional degree or technical school education is a plus.
