Mrs. Helen Turner
Mrs. Turner was diagnosed with lung cancer (resulting from
her battle with uterine cancer) and has been given a
prognosis of six months. After consulting with her doctor, it
was confirmed that her body was too weak for chemo and
that chemo only had a 50/50 chance of even slowing it down;
therefore, she decided to not take chemo. Please pray: for
healing because God is still able to heal if it is what is best,
for strength so that Mrs. Turner will feel better, and for
peace that only He can give.
Encounter Revival Ministries
The Encounter Team will be with us February 3-8. They will
minister during the 11:00 service on Sunday with lunch in
the fellowship hall, and then a concert at 2:00 PM. There will
be services Monday-Friday evenings at 7:00 PM with classes
for all ages.
We need housing for 13 girls and 11 boys. If you are willing
to house team members, please see Kathy Kelley.
Meetings
1. Deacons’ Meeting this evening at 6:00 PM in the CR.
2. Youth Leaders’ Meeting tonight at 8:00 PM in the CR.
3. Quarterly church business meeting on Wednesday,
January 23 at 7:00 PM.
Youth Announcements
The Juniors will be going to the Natural Science Center and
the Celebration Station this Saturday, January 19. We will
leave the church at 8:30 AM. Please let Pastor Randy know if
your child will be able to go.
The Teens are going to an Encounter Night at First Christian
gym this Friday, January 18 from 7-10 PM. Meet there!
Food Pantry
Our items for the month of January are instant potatoes, soups,
sugar, and flour.
