Message from Head
We have had a fantastic week with highlights being an amazing trip
to Aladdin and a visit to see Little Red Riding Hood starring our
very own Milly. She was fantastic and we all really enjoyed both
trips.
We’re looking forward to our own productions next week.
Have a lovely weekend.
Thank you to the FTS for support with the cost of the coaches.

selling their bits & bobs eg;- beautiful
personalised items for that extra special

FOREST SCHOOLS
Explorers have been busy decorating the Forest and have found evidence of
fairies visits.
Adventurers
Adventurers have had a busy but exciting week this week. We went to
Church for our first Nativity practice and the children all did really well
singing and speaking loudly.
Reverend Pauline showed us around the Church and spoke to us about the
birth of Jesus and why we perform Nativity plays around Christmas in theme
with our RE week.
Reception visited Jenny at the Post Office where they posted their letters to
Santa! Jenny showed and spoke to them about the Post Office and the jobs
she has to do.
Please could we have boxes (cereal, cereal bars, toothpaste) any shape or
size for the children to wrap in our Santa's Workshop Role Play next week.
We would also appreciate any wrapping paper, bows and tags. Thank you.
Explorers
We have had a great week this week, we have been practising hard for our
Christmas play and we are all very excited to be performing in the church
next week. Our costumes are looking great and I’m sure that we will all be
fantastic next week. Please keep practising your lines and the songs for one
last weekend to make sure that they are absolutely perfect for Thursday. Any
costumes that are not in school need to be in on Monday at the latest
please!
We had a great time at the Pantomime today and really enjoyed singing
along and dancing. What a great way to end the week!
Pioneers
Please ensure all Christmas production costumes are in school by Monday
12th December latest ahead of our dress rehearsal on Tuesday 13th
December and actual production on Wednesday 14th December!
Please ensure children come to school in their normal school uniform on
Monday 12th December and Monday 19th December as there are no
further sessions at Furzefield this half term.
We had a fantastic time at the Prince Edward Theatre on Thursday, where
we were lucky enough to watch Aladdin. We thoroughly enjoyed the show!
We look forward to welcoming parents and families to our Christmas
production on Wednesday at Queenswood School. The children have worked
hard in their rehearsals and look forward to showcasing their performance
then.
Discoverers
Thank you to all parents who sent in costumes today - they are great! Thank
you for all your efforts as it makes such a difference to the final performance.
All children who did not have a costume have assured me that they have
everything they need. Please send all costumes in by Monday.
Children in Discoverers are expected to have their own named art shirt or
apron, which they keep on their peg. We do not keep a general supply in this
class. If your child still does not have an apron, please send one in as soon as
possible. (If they had one in Pioneers, it is unlikely that it is either still there
or fit to use - old shirts get smelly!)
This week the children have not been given any homework.
Mrs Mole
After 40 years in teaching, Mrs Mole has taken the
decision to retire at Christmas. Mrs Mole teaches our Key
Stage 2 children art on a Friday afternoon. We will all
miss her very much but she has promised to visit us
often. I would like to thank Mrs Mole for service to
children in Hertfordshire and for being a lovely member
of our team. I am sure you will join us in wishing her a
very well earned rest!
Bad Weather Procedures
Action needed!
A new system to keep parents informed of school closures
has been introduced and parents can receive SMS and email messages as
soon as we at Ponsbourne update the system to say we are closing.
Parents need to register to receive messages and you can do this by
visiting:https://member.everbridge.net/index/892807736725489#/login
This link will direct you to the “Sign Up” page where you should click on the
“sign up” button located at the top right hand side of the page on the grey
strip and from there follow the instructions.
It will take no more than 5 minutes to register and you can edit your
information at any time. Each contact within the system can have 2 devices
added for each communication type if they wish to – this means that in
addition to adding your own mobile number and email address, you could
include the mobile number and email address of a partner, grandparent or
whoever collects your child/ren from school. They too would then receive any
messages in relation to the school’s closure. If you have children at other
schools you can register for those schools too in a single registration process
by selecting all schools your children attend.
