challenge, a chance to offer your learners a recognised industry qualification - part of progress 8 and on schools performance
tables, here’s an oppurtunity not to be missed.
SUPERCHARGE YOUR F1 IN SCHOOLS EXPERIENCE
For schools, UTC’s or college delivery into schools; EAL is offering your learners a chance to gain EAL Level 1 Foundation
Certificate in Engineering Technology as recognition of the work they complete for the F1 challenge.
If you are an existing F1 school or considering becoming an F1 school, this gives you the
opportunity to move on from after-school engineering clubs into delivering a nationally
recognised qualification. The qualification on 2017 Performance Tables, meets Progress 8
measures and attracts funding from SFA. For your learners, achieving the qualification provides
another string to their bow, and helps them build a path to an exciting career in industry.
DESIGNED FOR FUTURE ENGINEERS
EAL’s Level 1 Foundation Certificate in Engineering Technology has three optional units
(Introduction to Computer Aided Drawing (CAD), Introduction to Computer Aided Machining
(CAM) and Introduction to Engineering project planning) mapped to F1 in Schools activities,
helping learners achieve the qualification through activities that would otherwise not be officially
recognised.

In addition to the three optional units, your learners will also need to complete one mandatory online assessed unit (Health and
Safety & Communication) outside the F1 in Schools activities.
