Summer Internship Programme 2017
Research Project
PR20_High Resolution Electron Microscopy and
Spectroscopy of Low Dimensional Materials
Transition Metal Chalcogenide MoS2/ WS2 nanotubes with
1-3 layers, have attracted great attention in recent times
due to several potential applications. Detailed information
regarding the number of layers, stacking sequence,
polytype, chirality etc. are crucial to elucidating their
properties and applications.
Project Short
description
Expected Start/End
date
The present project will involve employing high resolution
imaging and spectroscopy to investigate the atomic
structure and composition of these nanomaterials. This
will be carried out in combination with basic simulation
using standard software to provide a complete
understanding and to complement the experimental data.
