Maui Electric Energy Fair features lots of family fun on September 13
(KAHULUI, Maui) – Maui Electric Company will present fun games, interactive displays,
hands-on demonstrations and entertainment at the free Maui Electric Energy Fair on
Saturday, September 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Queen Ka‘ahumanu Center.
“Bring your entire ‘ohana and join us for an exciting day dedicated to all things energy,”
said Sharon Suzuki, president of Maui Electric Company. “Come talk story with us and
see how electricity is made from various resources on our island. You can also learn
more ways to reduce your energy use and pick up important tips to keep your family
safe when it comes to electricity.”
This annual community event will feature various displays on live electrical safety,
renewable energy, electric vehicles, power generation and distribution, and energy
conservation and efficiency.
Additional displays will also be presented by community partners: Baldwin and Maui
High School Robotics teams, County of Maui Department of Water Supply, Hawaii
Energy, First Wind, JUMPSmart Maui, Maui Economic Development Board’s Island
Energy Inquiry, Save Our Seabirds, and Sempra Energy. Plus, energetic performances
by Hawaii All-Star Cheer, Maui Zenshin Daiko, Coolangots, Konomi Dance Works and
more.
