Kathy & Tia have been visiting classrooms reading the story “Special People, Special Ways’ to talk to kids about
how promote understanding and tolerance.
They are also talking to kids about how to report negative behavior to adults and to understand it is not their job
to ‘change it’.
Pick up hill etiquette – mirror confidentiality and kindness messages to our kids. Focus on ‘yourselves’.
Parking lot running fairly smoothly, but there is a lack of ‘drop and go’. Parents are asked to not get out of their
cars and to keep moving. Please do not drop in fire lane or on 22nd ‘around’ the corners – visibility becomes near
zero and kids are forced to go into the street before they can see traffic. Likewise, the first opportunity to cross
Trossachs is at Sterling Square (across from Glencoe) – remind families to ONLY cross at crosswalks and
especially NOT at Belvedere.
Tia will contact the city about the possibility of painting additional crosswalks so ‘no parking’ areas are more
obvious.
Veteran’s Day assembly is 11/9 at 9am – call for photos and vets to attend.
