RIIRIS402D - CARRY OUT THE RISK MANAGEMENT
PROCESSES (G2 COURSE)
Aim
The Pegasus Training ‘RIIRIS402D Carry Out the Risk Management Processes (G2 Course)’ covers the
skills and knowledge required to conduct risk management processes in the coal, metalliferous mining,
quarrying and civil construction industries.
Course Outline
The aim of this course is to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to effectively facilitate the risk
management processes required on a mine or construction site (including conducting risk assessments and
facilitating risk workshops).
This unit covers the skills and knowledge required to implement and apply risk management processes
within an established system for a mine site / area, including the application of local hazard identification,
formal risk assessment and implementation of risk controls. It includes the monitoring of the system,
reporting on implementation issues, communication of processes and systems, and the review and auditing
of the risk management processes and systems.
COURSE IN DETAIL
Prerequisites
The participant must possess reasonable literacy and numeracy skills with a sound understanding of
spoken English. It is recommended that the participant have completed the Site Safety Supervisor Course
(S123).

Course Structure
The RIIRIS402A Carry Out the Risk Management Processes (G2) course is aligned to the currently
endorsed RII Resources and Infrastructure Industry National Training package. The unit is a national
recognised unit of competency. RIIRIS402D includes:

Auditing the risk management processes; and
Completing records and reports.
Duration
1 day; in additional there will be a small take home project that will be required to be completed within 1
month of the course date.
