In 3/4P we have done a lot of learning in Term 1 and Term 2. We have gone
swimming, met Phil Cummings and much more…
Swimming: In week 4, Term 1 we went to the Elizabeth Aquadome to do swimming lessons
with the school. 3/4P went with 3O and 3/4J. 4/5CR went with 5C and 4/5H.
We lined up for Swimming. We got to the Aquadome on a private bus. When we got there
we had to do freestyle from the middle of the pool to the end of the pool. We got divided
into groups. We introduced ourselves to our new instructors. After we got introduced by
our instructors we started to know about each other. We got into the pool and started
doing what our instructors told us to do. We did this every day for one week.
Phil Cummings:
Phil Cummings is an author from Barossa Valley. He came to our school and told us about
his life and his books. He told us that he has written over 40 children and adult books in his
life. We asked how did he get into writing and he said from writing poems and songs. He
also said that his dog Misty was a big part of his life. Sadly Misty passed away. He now has a
dog called Daisy.
Study Ladder:
At the start of the year Mr. Perri introduced us to a site called Study Ladder. We can make
avatars. We have lots of fun playing games on Study Ladder and set tasks. We do Math,
Spelling, Literacy and Fun Games. We also have a pet alien. Every time we log on, we earn a
biscuit for our alien.
Harmony Day:
On the 21st of March it was Harmony Day. We had to wear Red, Yellow and Orange.
Salisbury Primary made a big orange banner. 3/4P wrote Harmony Day in the middle of the
banner and wrote other words related to Harmony Day. After we did that we drew our
portraits or names. We also drew some food and flags.
Posters about Ourselves
In Term 1 we made posters about ourselves. Some of us added our favourite cartoon, some
of us added our favourite TV show, even some of us added our age! Some of us drew our
favourite animal.

Phil Cummings
In Term 1 Phil Cummings visited us in the library .He told us things
about his life and he read us some of his books. He told us he
wrote over 70 books. He also told us that he once saw a brown
snake in his backyard he told us lots of other things.
Studyladder
Spellodrome is a site where we do lots of different learning tasks
like spelling, math’s, and lots more we also get money and we
can buy stuff.

Spellodrome is similar to Study Ladder but instead of lots of
learning tasks we only do spelling. We also get money and we can
buy things
Swimming week 4
In Term 1 week 4 we went to the Aquadome. We learnt how to
swim lots of different styles. Here are some styles we learnt;
backstroke, breaststrokeand swimming with flippers.
Salisbury Primary 3/4P
3/4P HAS BEEN DOING SOME LESSONS WITH MR DAY AND MR PERRI ABOUT THE
FIRST FLEET AND WE HAD TO STUDY A CONVICT. WE HAD TO DO A POWERPOINT
PRESENTATION AND FIND SOME FACTS ABOUT OUR CONVICT. MY CONVICT WAS
FRANCES HART. SHE STOLE CLOTHING TO A VALUE OF 41 SHILLINGS. SHE WAS
SENTENCED TO TRANSPORT FOR SEVEN YEARS AND LEFT ENGLAND ON THE
FRIENDSHIP.
On the 15th of May the Year 3,5 and 7’s did the Naplan
Test in Reading and Writing.
In swimming week we learned to do backstroke, torpedo, free style
and lots more. My favourite was diving. On the last day of swimming
week we got to go on the slide 2 times but if you didn’t go on the
slide you got to play games in the pool.

In Term 1 we made a Harmony Day poster with our
class mates.
In Term 2 we made a Photo
Story.
In Term 1 we went to the
Elizabeth Aqua Dome.
During Term 1 we made multimedia videos using Movie Maker for
Swimming and Harmony Day.
In Term 1 Mr. Perri introduced us to Study Ladder and in Study Ladder when we
finish a game we earn coins and get to spend it in a room on Study Ladder. In
Term 2 Mr. Perri introduced us to Spellodrome. Once we get 1000 points we earn a
jersey and 100 credits and you can spend the credits on your spellodrome
character.
In term 2 we had Buddy Bear Day and we were allowed to wear Purple.
3/4P LEARNING PROGRAMS
We’ve just learnt how to
log on to Study Ladder
and create our own
character on the
laptops. There are lots
of fun games. You get to
design your own room.
You also have a pet
alien which grows
every time you win a
game.
We have learnt how to use Photo
Story and Movie Maker. It has
lots of animations and you can
make your own movie and
story.
We love this game called
Spelldrome it’s very easy and a
great way to learn new words
and its extremely fun.
Swimming Week was a blast we were really excited on the bus
and then when we got to the Aqua Dome we loved swimming in
the pool because it was really warm.
We were learning about
the First Fleet so we
chose a convict and
made our own slide show.
We gathered information
and wrote it in our books.
On Harmony Day we coloured a
Harmony Day balloon and made
a banner. We took a photo of the
banner with us holding it up.
Our class did a slide show about
Phil Cummings. We found out he
has a dog named Daisy. He used to
have a dog named Misty and some
fish in a pond.
