Dental surgery renovation causes smiles all around
A light and fresh space that was welcoming and memorable was the brief given to Tauranga designer
Carolyn Prier when she took on the renovation of the Corson Dental Surgery.
With only a small space to work in, Carolyn was challenged to maximise the space both visually and
physically and chose lighter tones in order to do so. In order to maximise resources Carolyn chose
Melteca laminated
panels for the
cabinetry and a
Laminex
DiamondGloss
benchtop in the staff
kitchen, allowing the
focus to shift to the
statement reception
counter made from
Caesarstone Calacatta
Nuvo. The creamy
white tones with large
grey veining draws in
the eye and
complements the
grey washed timber
floors and darker,
Melteca Burnished
Wood cabinetry. It was also chosen to tie in with the Laminex DiamondGloss White Valencia
benchtop to keep the colour tones similar through the public and staff spaces. Inspired by the
Caesarstone brochure, Carolyn chose Calacatta Nuvo for its white tones and hints of charcoal,
providing depth in the small reception area. Prier was so impressed with the final result that she is
now installing Caesarstone Calacatta Nuvo in her own showroom kitchen.
Not only did the Caesarstone Calacatta Nuvo provide the look required, it also offered many physical
properties that made it perfect for this project. Caesarstone is non-porous, waterproof, mould and
mildew resistant, and complies with the American Greenguard Environmental Institute certification
which primarily verifies that Caesarstone products meet the most stringent indoor air emission
standards. Supported by a ten year limited
warranty Caesarstone surfaces retain the
cool, tactile qualities of natural stone, whilst
offering a wider range of design possibilities.
