Purpose of the TEPPC Studies
Multiple uses :

WECC Planning
– Identify potential future reliability risks – resource mix/path-flows/retirements
– Conduct system adequacy and stability analyses
– (FERC recognition in Staff Guidance Paper- 01/20/2016 – Docket No: AD 16-14-000)

Regional Planning Groups
– Assists with FERC Order 890 obligations (data / tools / benchmark comparisons)
– Assist with FERC Order 1000 compliance

All Stakeholders
– Provide Interconnection-wide perspective
– Multiple perspectives—Load Serving Entities, Transmission Owners, Transmission Planners,
State/Provincial governments, technology and environmental advocates and tribal
communities.
