3. Tournament mode:
a) Number of rounds and games:
The tournament consists of a max. of 3 qualifying rounds, a max. of 6 re-buy rounds, a final chance and, depending on the number of participants, a round of 16, a quarterfinal, a semifinal and a final. The number of players and
games will be announced prior to each round. The game will be played at tables with 2-7 players. As soon as the
number of participants falls short of 7 players, the final will follow.
b) Buy-in, re-buy, number of chips:
For the € 1,000 buy-in, for every re-buy of € 500 and for the final chance of € 300 every participant receives chips
worth € 6,000.
In the event of elimination, there is a chance for a re-buy (max. 2 times) of € 500, which enables qualification for the
next round. Re-buys are only possible on the first day.
Every round starts with a chip level of € 6,000
.
c) Qualification for the next round, tie in chip level:
Qualification rounds, re-buy rounds, round of 16 and quarter finals:
- Table with 7 players: 3 participants with the highest level of chips qualify for the next round
- Table with 6 players: 3 participants with the highest level of chips qualify for the next round
- Table with 5 or 4 players: 2 participants with the highest level of chips qualify for the next round
- Table with 3 or 2 players: 1 participant with the highest level of chips qualifies for the next round
If a re-buy round or final chance consists of just one player, this player automatically qualifies for the rest of the
tournament.
Final chance, semifinal:
The number of qualifiers who advance per table will be announced prior to the start of the game.
If at the end of a round two more of those who are eligible to advance have the same level of chips, 5 additional
games will be played by the players concerned. If the result is still undecided, it will be determined by lots. If the
same situation occurs in the final, there will be an additional 5 games until there is a result.
d) Maximum, minimum:
The minimum bet is € 100, the maximum bet is € 3,000. Every bet is possible in intervals of € 100 between the
minimum and maximum.
e) Bets, button sequence, time:
Every player bets exclusively on his box; betting on other boxes is prohibited.
A button advanced clockwise by one box after every game shows which player plays the last box. Every round
starts with the button on the last box. The dealing and sequence of determining which players win the game is also
orientated by this button.
The first player to bet is the player sitting clockwise after the button, in other words, the player who plays the first
box; then it is the next player in clockwise direction. A player is only required to bet if the player sitting clockwise
directly before him has made his bet. Bets made outside of this sequence are valid and can no longer be changed.
The bets must be made on the box with a single motion. Every subsequent change of bets is prohibited.
Every player has one minute to place his bet. If this does not happen, the tournament management will call „TIME“
on the player to place his bet within the next 30 seconds. If there still has been no decision made after „TIME“ has
been called, the minimum bet is to be made. Every player is responsible for the amount of his bets himself. Consulting with other players or onlookers is prohibited.
f) Player absence, delay:
If a player is not present at the start of a round, a minimum bet will be taken from his capital for 7 games. The box
concerned does not receive any cards. If the player is still absent for the 8th game, his playing capital is taken and
he departs the current round. The buy-in and any re-buys are not refunded. The same rule also applies when a
player leaves the table during a round. Another player is not permitted to continue the game.
g) General:
During the game, every player is required to keep his chips visible and stacked in front of him. The possibility to determine the exact amount of playing capital only exists during 5 games before the end of a round. This helps orient
the participants.
Removing chips from the table, lending them or giving them to another player is prohibited and results in immediate disqualification.
Switching players during the tournament is prohibited.
For the duration of the entire tournament the Black Jack rules of Casinos Austria shall apply except for Best Chance, which is not played during the Black Jack World Championship. The game will be played with 6 decks using a
shuffling device.
The decision of (tournament) management is final. General or tournament management reserves the right to make
changes in the programme.
