GLASS TYPES
There is more to glass than meets the eye. Even though our trained team in the factory handle our
glass with the utmost care, glass is fragile and can result in unfortunate, untimely breakages before
delivery takes place. In the rare cases when this happens, we always strive to correct this as soon
as possible.
We use 4mm glass – Some of the most common glass types used are:
Clear float
Clear toughened
Clear + Sandblast film
Clear + Evakote (back painted glass)
Extra White + Evakote
Mirror + safety film
Grey mirror + safety film
some important terms explained
GLASS TERMINOLOGY
Clear Float: Normal / plain glass (non-safety) Has a natural ‘greenness’ to it.
Toughened: A heating and cooling process done to float glass to make it safety glass. All cutting /
polishing / drilling holes needs to be done before the toughening process. Once glass is
toughened, it cannot be cut down / drilled into.
Extra White: This is an imported glass type that has no ‘green’ in it compared to our local glass,
and therefore if you want pure / snow white glass look or you want to try match an exact colour as
close as possible to something else, you need to use Extra white glass. (Also sometimes referred to
as OptiWhite glass)
Evakote: This is the colour coating process of spraying paint onto the glass to see the colour
through. It is a specialised procedure in which paint and a unique additive is sprayed onto the glass
to create a long lasting bond and modern look. Virtually unlimited colour options.
IMPORTANT COLOUR GLASS NOTICE
To get a ‘mint’ looking colour, use Clear glass + white Evakote, to get pure white, use Extra white
glass + white Evakote.
There is a ‘human element’ to paint mixing, matching and spraying. We strive to offer colours as
close to the require specification as possible, however exact and consistent matching is virtually
impossible. Therefore, if painted glass doors are damaged and need to be replaced at a later stage,
an exact colour match is highly unlikely. It is recommended that two doors next to one another be
resprayed together to get them matching.
Light also plays a big role in the effect of the colour glass doors. Doors fitted at right angles to one
another will receive different natural and artificial light and this may make the colour appear different
from one another. Similar effect with flap doors and base cabinet doors.

rebate off the back, so that it will fit
into the profile. Alternatively, us the
Vogue Sliding Wood system.
This Pre-manufactured / DIY system
is Pre-cut, drilled and self-tapped,
based on your given measurements.
It is then sent in a cardboard tube to
be assembled by yourselves, with
your cut to size board (we will provide
you with the board cutting list)
When glass / mirror is required –
there is a 4mm gasket for this profile,
so that you can mix glass and

designed to just take glass [For this
need, refer to the Vogue Sliding

Fit the Sliding door by lifting the bottom wheel
into the profile and placing the top of the door
into the top track first, then lower the door
