Channel Locks MUST be used to open and close the Tamper Proof

TAMPER PROOF LIDS
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION: Oatey in accordance with Canadian Government Guidelines has supplied our solvents with
the best possible Tamper Proof Lid available. We have created these instructions to help remove the lids as easy as possible
without damage to the can, or accidental damages due to a spill.
Tools required for opening the Tamper Proof Lids
 One pair of 12” (304.8mm) Channel Locks / or comparable sized wrench
 One pair of rubber or vinyl gloves
 One hard flat surface
Channel Locks MUST be used to open and close the Tamper Proof Lids Properly
Before starting any project using cements and primers; make sure that all
surfaces are protected against accidental spills. HANDLE WITH CARE!
THESE PRODUCTS WILL STAIN MOST MATERIALS AND
SURFACES!
1. After putting on protective gloves, place primer / cleaner on a flat hard surface.
2. While holding the can firmly at the base, position the Channel Locks flush with the top of the
Tamper Proof Lid in a counter clockwise gripping position.
3. Apply medium compression pressure with the Channel Locks, and loosen the lid. After you
loosen the lid, you can squeeze the lid by hand and unscrew it the rest of the way off.
4. Once you have completed your project, hand tighten the lid by hand until the Tamper Proof
Lid starts to slip while turning. Then with the Channel Locks flush with the top of the Tamper
Proof Lid in a clockwise gripping position, apply medium compression pressure and finish
tightening the lid.
