END USERS SHARING INSIGHTS INTO INDUSTRIAL WATER FOOTPRINT REDUCTION Industry is one of the main users of water in Europe. Are you also involved in Industrial water use and challenged to find solutions to re-use or reduce water within your companies processes? We invite you to participate in the Aquatech Industrial User Experience, to present your showcase or to gather input from fellow professionals. End users sharing insights This pavilion on industrial water use is for the industry as well as by the industry, making it the ideal place to network and exchange ideas. Our objective is to create a meeting place where industry experts can exchange their ideas and experiences with their peers in industry as well as with potential solutions providers. With the Industrial User Experience (IUE) we want to bridge the gap between Industry demands and solutions provided by equipment providers. We especially invite industrial end users to present their challenges and/or innovative solutions. There is also room in the programme for near market products presented by technology suppliers. We expect to have an audience of ± 200 persons per day. Sessions and/or the full day programme can be sponsored by Aquatech exhibitors and industrial water experts. Bridging the gap The IUE is for the industry as well as by the industry, making it the ideal place to network and exchange ideas. Speakers at the 2015 edition included Shell, Fluor Process Engineering, Engie (formerly GdF Suez E&P), TOTAL, Aramco, MARS, DOW Chemical, Nyrstar, Barrick Gold Corporation, and many more. Industry focus The programme has a special focus each day: ● Tuesday, October 31: Oil & Gas ● Wednesday, November 1: Food, Beverage & Paper ● Thursday, November 2: Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals This event coincides with the bi-annual Aquatech trade fair and the Amsterdam International Water Week (www.internationalwaterweek.com). Aquatech Amsterdam is one of the largest international trade events with a unique focus on water use and water treatment. It features 900 exhibitors and 21,500+ visitors from more than 140 countries. The Aquatech Industrial User Experience is jointly organized by Aquatech Amsterdam and Wetsus. Wetsus is a Dutch research institute focusing on water technology and doing this in close collaboration with more than 100 companies. Tuesday Oil & Gas industry 31 October 10:30 Reception & registration 11:00 - 12:30hrs Solving water restrictions in down stream processing: Secure access to sufficient water is increasingly a challenge for down streaming processing of oil in refinery complexes. Alternative water sources and re-use of water can therefore provide solutions to ensure continued production. Invited: Repsol, “reuse of sewage effluent in a refinery” Invited: Total Refinery, Germany, “Pilot results of water reuse through combined flotation and ceramic membranes” Challenges in produced water: In certain area’s availability of water is becoming a limiting factor for production. In this session we explore new examples of water treatment for water reuse and possibilities to approach zero liquid discharge. Arian Nijmeijer, Shell, “From produced water to boiler feed water: first experiences with water reuse in oil sands mining”. Invited: Svein Viggo Aanesen, Statoil, “Potentially harmful components from electrochemical treatment of produced water Invited: Salttech, The Netherlands 15:00 - 16:30hrs Wednesday 1 November Food, Beverage & Paper 10:30 Reception & registration 11:00 - 12:30hrs Treating concentrated waste waters: Water reduction and water reuse has the advantage that waste water volumes are reduced and concentrated. Such high loaded waste water present both opportunities and challenges for a reliable and stable treatment. High salt contents or oils and fats may complicate the treatment. Rainbow Chicken, South Africa – “Experiences with an anaerobic flotation reactor for treatment of fat and oil containing wastewater” Westfort, The Netherlands – “Compact aerobic granular sludge treatment for slaughter house waste water” Water reuse in the Food, Beverage & Paper industry: This session explores the limits and possibilities of water reuse in the Food & Beverage industry. The “food-grade” quality and nutrient content of such wastewaters may harness interesting potential for other industries or agriculture. Re-use in the own industry may also be interesting, but control of impurities and biological growth can be challenging. Michael Corkery, Water Management - Corporate Engineering, Nestle S.A: “Drinking water from dairy waste water, Mexico” invited: Mars, “Anaerobic MBR treatment as an enabler for water reuse in Poland & the Netherlands” 15:00 - 16:30hrs Thursday 2 November Chemicals & Pharma 10:30 Reception & registration 11:00 - 12:30hrs Water, energy & corrosion: Increased reuse of water and energy sets increasing demands to water treatment in the chemical industry. Reuse will accumulate trace components, but purer water may also have negative effects. This session explores challenges in water treatment to maximize water and energy reuse. invited: Tim Finley – DOW - water reuse Freeport industrial area, Texas invited: Sabine Thabert – Inovyn - water reuse in PVC production, Belgium Pharmaceutical water This session explores the demands and challenges for water treatment in the pharmaceutical industry. What is the importance of ultra-pure water and how can micropollutants be effectively addressed in wastewater treatment. How can antibiotic resistance be addressed. Herman Slijkhuis - DSM Sinochem – sustainable production of antibiotics invited sponsored presentation: Arcadis – challenges in treating pharmaceutical waste water 15:00 - 16:30hrs Powered by Sponsored by
