Classes are in session, when ...
That’s the fire alarm,
Ms. Grace!
When the fire alarm rings
we stand up and get in line next to our lockers.
It is very important to be quiet and listen
carefully to Ms. Grace.

Before we leave the room,
I am going to check to the hallway to ensure
our route is clear for us to exit safely.
This way
class.
I don’t see any fire or smoke.
Good! Our exit route is clear
and safe for us to evacuate.

Always check to make sure the route is clear
of any hazards like fire or smoke.
If it is not clear - take a different route.
Our route is clear.
We can leave the school using
the route we practiced.
Ready everyone?
I have to
grab our class folder,
make sure
the room is empty and then
close the door.

When Ms. Grace sees no one is
in the classroom, she closes the door to
place the Status Card.
Check to make sure the door is not hot
before opening it. If it is hot - don’t open it.
Tell your teacher!
Ella, please hold the door until
I get to you. Everyone else keep
going outside.
