Sid Richardson gives back to the community:
Our Big Spring Plant Manager, Robert Kennedy, was recently asked by Big Spring Jr. High to speak to the 6th grade classes
about the process of making of carbon black and Sid Richardson’s Environmental Initiatives. Being a father himself, Mr.
Kennedy was very happy to speak to the children and did a wonderful job explaining to them the different ways carbon
black is used and how carbon black is made. Mr. Kennedy had the privilege of speaking to 5 different classes. Not only
were 2 students that were in the class children of employees from the Big Spring plant, but the Vice Principal at the
School is the daughter of Mike Chesworth, from Sid Richardson, and worked 5 summers at the plant as summer help!
Special thanks to 6th grade Science teacher Maria Martinez and Assistant Principal Nicole Woodard (daughter of Mike
Chesworth).
