Our Bark For Life of York County needs you!
Bark For Life is an American Cancer Society fundraising event that honors the caregiving qualities of canine
companions. This event also helps save lives by supporting the mission of the American Cancer Society.
We need you to help us save more lives faster! Be a part of our first annual Bark For Life of York County!
Please check which of the following committee positions interest you. Ideally, each committee will have a
chairman, co-chairman and committee; however, some committees may combine with others with similar duties
such as, registration and accounting or entertainment and activities. Please return interest form to Kasey Bielecki,

 Serve as the Relay spokesperson in the
community.
 Recruit a team of volunteers to plan and
implement all aspects of Bark For Life.
 Lead all committee meetings.
 Work with Staff Partner to ensure that American
Cancer Society philosophies, standards and
policies are followed.
 Determine Bark timeline and budget with Staff
Partner.

Team Recruitment, Retention and Management are
the most important jobs on your committee for
without teams you have no Bark For Life. The
entire committee will recruit teams, but it will be this
person’s focus to lead & guide four other Teams
Chairmen.
Sponsorship

Responsible for contacting corporations, banks,
health professionals, etc. to secure underwriting,
which will cover the expenses of the event.
Registration/Accounting

Responsible for keeping track of team and team
member donations, as well as “the numbers” of the
event (teams, affiliation of the team, survivors, etc)
Responsible for making all deposits to the
American Cancer Society Shared Services Center
and keeping income and expense records for the
event.
Survivorship Celebration

Recruits and plans activities for local survivors who
attend the event.
Publicity

Uses all local resources to get the word out about
the Event.
Logistics

Provides the comfort and necessities at the event.
Entertainment/Activities

Recruits local groups to perform at the Relay,
bringing fun to the event to keep everyone going.
Serves as stage manager during event. Keeps the
participants involved and active for the entire event
with games and competitions.
Online Chair
This person will be responsible for assembling and
maintaining the website, as well as answering all
questions regarding online donations and usage.
Must be computer literate and have easy access to
a home/work computer with Microsoft Word and
Excel.
