Mary Anne Marr, SR/WA, Elected IRWA International President The International Right of Way Association (IRWA) elected Mary Anne Marr, SR/WA, to be its 2016-2017 International President. The announcement was made during IRWA’s 62nd Annual International Education Conference held in Nashville, Tennessee this past June. As leader of IRWA’s International Governing Council and Board of Directors, Mary Anne will serve as the chief elected officer and is granted the powers and duties of management usually vested in the office of president of a corporation. She has an integral role in overseeing the policies and strategic planning of an expanding Association consisted of over 10,000 professional members around the world. Mary Anne is currently employed as the Director of Real Estate for Consumers Energy, one of the nation’s largest combination utilities, providing gas and electricity to over 6.6 million of Michigan’s 10 million residents. Mary Anne has over 30 years experience in the real estate field and is a Michigan Licensed Certified General Appraiser. With over 19 years in the utility industry, she has worked on a diverse range of utility infrastructure projects. Mary Anne has been a member of IRWA’s Michigan Chapter 7 for over 20 years and has served in a leadership capacity at all chapter levels. She is also a past Chair of IRWA’s Region 5. As a member of the International Executive Committee, Mary Anne has served as liaison to the International Electric & Utilities Committee, the International Relations Group, the Bylaws Working Group, the Credentialing Committee as well the International Federation of Real Estate (FIABCI).
