Sabina Pastor honored with
SPC's Power of Prevention Award
Sabina United Methodist Church Pastoor Joni
Manson recently received one of three 2016 Power
of Prevention Awards from the Suicide Prevention
Coalition of Warren & Clinton Counties. Two more
awards will be presented later this year.
Pastor Manson started the "Arms of Hope" initiative,
which brings together several faith communities to
operate a community center offering several support
options. For example, residents can attend
Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous
meetings. The center also offers area youth an
alternative social space that can help reduce
involvement with drugs and reduce stigma of mental
health issues.
