LIGHT THE NIGHT
Light The Night is an inspirational community event that raises awareness and funding for
groundbreaking research and treatment options to eliminate cancer.
When a loved one hears the words “you have cancer,” it is a dark and scary time. LLS’s Light The Night
brings light to the darkness of cancer through hope, research and support for patients, families, friends,
doctors, nurses, researchers, colleagues and caregivers.
Imagine if every time a patient saw light in a dark moment they felt the warmth of 1 million supporters
cheering them to a victory against cancer. Imagine if every time a family member saw a lantern glowing
bright they knew there was a doctor or research honing in on a treatment to eliminate cancer. Imagine
if every time a caregiver saw a light shining in the window they knew thousands of families were wishing
them strength and courage.

Be the face of the 2017 Vermont Light The Night!
LLS staff will work with the Presenting Sponsors to develop unique, customized benefits which align
with company’s marketing & business needs.
As a Presenting Sponsor, your company logo will be included on the keepsake lantern given to each
walker.
The Upstate New York/Vermont Chapter of LLS serves 20 counties in Upstate New York and the entire
state of Vermont. This is a fantastic opportunity to show those touched by cancer that you care and
a great opportunity to engage your employees.

NIGHT-OF SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Light The Night Sponsors have a unique opportunity to share their enthusiasm and support of
the LLS mission by actively participating in key areas of the Light The Night experience. This is a
great opportunity to build morale with company employees through volunteerism.
WHITE SPONSORS -- $7,500
White Lanterns are given to cancer survivors and those in treatment. This is a great
opportunity to highlight your company’s support to those most touched by blood cancer.
As a White Sponsor:
 Your Company logo will be displayed on all print materials (LTN brochures, posters, invitations, etc.) and your
company logo with hyperlink will be featured on the Chapter’s Light The Night website and social media.

Survivor Cape Sponsor – Company logo co-branded with Light The Night on capes given to all survivors and
participants in cancer treatment.

Warming Nook Sponsor – Show your support of Light The Night by hosting the warming nook, where walkers can
grab a warm beverage and snack.
VIP Reception Sponsor – Light The Night Sponsors and teams that raise $10,000 or more are invited to a pre-walk
reception co-branded with your company logo.
Vermont Challenge Sponsor – Vermont Challenge is a fundraising competition for participants to personally raise
funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Company logo included in emails to all Vermont Challenge
participants. Vermont Challenge participants that raise $5,000 or more are listed in the March 2018 Forbes
magazine. LLS staff will work with sponsor for co-branding opportunities.

Gold Lanterns honor those we have lost to cancer as we take steps to fund cures. As a Gold
Lantern Sponsor, your commitment to the community and our goal of curing cancer will be
front and center to all our participants.
As a Gold Sponsor:

company logo with hyperlink will be featured on the Chapter’s Light The Night website and social media.

posted in the Remembrance Pavilion.
Light The Late Night – Share your commitment for the mission to cure blood cancers with your personal postwalk celebration: music, games, food … it’s your to make a memorable moment that participants will remember.
Kids Zone Sponsor – Company volunteers can man the Kids Zone and help with face painting, games and other
pre-walk festivities.
Selfie Station – The Selfie Station is one of the most popular pre-walk activities. Co-brand your company with
Light The Night and bring along fun company-related items for people to wear for their selfie!
Innovation Sponsor – Innovation and research are ensuring that more lives are saved, and your company has the
opportunity to take the innovation lead at Light The Night. As Innovation Sponsor, your company will be featured
at this mission-focused area dedicated to critical advances.

RED SPONSORS -- $2,500
Supporters of Light The Night carry Red Lanterns, and as a Red Lantern Sponsor have a great
opportunity to share their enthusiasm and support of the LLS mission by actively participating
in key areas of the Light The Night experience, and a great opportunity to build morale with

Team Photos – There were over 40 teams at the 2016 Light The Night. This is an opportunity for you to co-brand
your company with Light The Night and give teams a beautiful memento of their fundraising success.
Light The Way Sponsors – Light The Way Sponsors have a unique opportunity to create a lighted oasis for
participants on the walk. LLS will provide you with a table and chairs and you can personalize your area with lights,
music, food or games. What a great way to celebrate Light The Night!
Food Sponsors – As a food sponsor, your company name/logo will be on the Food Station banner, and LLS will
provide you with a table to hand out company literature, specialty food and/or gifts.
Raffle Sponsor – Your Company can take the lead on the annual raffle, helping with gift donations, selling raffle
tickets and creating a beautiful area for walkers to enjoy!
Registration Sponsor – As Registration Sponsor, company volunteers can greet walkers as they enter the event(s)
and give them company literature or gifts.
Incentive Sponsor – As Incentive Sponsor, company volunteers can congratulate Light The Night “Champions for
the Cure” participants as they receive their Light The Night T-shirt.
Poster Decorating – LLS will provide you with Light The Night banners for walkers to decorate before the start of
the walk. Company volunteers can provide decorations for the banners and hand out company literature or gifts.
MISSION SPONSORS -- $1,000
Promote your business at Light The Night! Mission Sponsors will be acknowledged with your company’s name or
logo printed on our Walk route sign and placed on the Church Street Marketplace, and your sponsorship will be
acknowledged on LLS social media outlets pre and post event.
