Implementation Strategies



MDM is implemented through Panchayti
Raj System.
In rural area the scheme is implemented
by village education committee (VEC)
constituted for each school.
Municipal school boards/Education
committees / ward committees are
responsible for implementation in urban
area.
Management of private aided schools are
responsible for implementation in their
respective schools.
Rice quota is released by GOI to district
supply officer from FCI godown.
Every school has an institutional ration
card.
Rice is lifted from fair price ration shops
designated for each school.




Cooked meal is not prepared by teachers.
VECs have appointed agencies for cooking.
Preference is given to self help groups of
women, mahila mandals or needy women.
In the urban areas municipal corporations
have appointed contractors or mahila
mandals for cooking.
At some places, NGOs (e.g. ISKCON) have
shown their interest.
