Nursery Curriculum
We offer a developmentally-appropriate nursery curriculum for infants through young 3-year-olds. We
strive to provide a safe and loving environment for your child so that you are able to worship during the
service. Each of our classrooms are staffed with two fully-trained staff members as well as
volunteers. Babies and toddlers will be held, fed, diapered, played with and loved upon. All nursery
classes are divided by age and development. Every week a lesson is presented by the Basket Lady, an
engaging teacher who visits the nursery classes. She teaches children that the Bible is God’s word, God
made them, and God loves them. Through stories, objects and movement, the Basket Lady opens your
child’s heart and mind to the love of God. The children also learn a handful of songs and Bible verses to
help them hide God's word in their hearts from an early age.
Important Facts About Our Nursery
 All classrooms are divided by age group and developmental level: Infants, Walkers, Two’s.
 We have at least 2 Children’s Ministry staff members in each classroom who have gone through a full
background check and application process. They also participate in multiple training sessions each year.
 Trained and screened volunteers assist the staff members by holding, playing with, and serving your
children.
 Each parent of nursery age children should volunteer in a nursery classroom at least 3 times a year.
 We provide nametags for you and your child. These nametags have a matching security number for both
you and your child to ensure that no one without this number can pick up your child (this number
changes weekly). This number also appears on monitors in the sanctuary if your child needs assistance
during the worship service.
 Promotion Schedule:
o Infants class to Walkers class: when child begins walking
o Walkers Class to Two’s: the month after child turns two
o Two’s class to Pre-School: school year calendar, promotion in Sept when child turns 3 by Dec 31st
