Message from the Chairman
Dear Colleagues
Welcome to the 2016 European Artificial
Lift Forum. Despite the current industry
woes, this biennial event has been
able to attract a wide-ranging mix of
presentations, posters, exhibitors and the
ever popular pre-conference training day,
all aimed at enhancing your knowledge
of artificial lift. I don’t think it is an
exaggeration to say that artificial lift is
one of the primary enabling technologies continuing to deliver
value in a mature basin like the North Sea, and in a low oil price
environment. In support of this, EuALF continues to provide a
high-quality learning opportunity, with case studies delivered by
experienced professionals and showcasing the latest technical
developments. Run as a non-commercial event, EuALF brings
together experts in the field with those just starting their careers in
this fascinating subject.
So if you are involved in artificial lift, or just want to learn more about
it, take advantage of EuALF 2016. All profit is ploughed back in to
support the SPE Aberdeen Section and its objective to promote
continuing education of both talented young professionals and
experienced practitioners.
I hope to see you there.

Industry panel Q&A session
A new feature of this year’s conference will be the panel session comprising representatives from an operator, service company
and government regulator to offer a collective perspective of the state of artificial lift technology within the oil and gas sector.
Representatives from Talisman-Sinopec Energy, Schlumberger and the OGA, the UK’s Oil and Gas Authority, will participate in
this question and answer session scheduled at the start of day two. Delegates are encouraged to attend and put their specific,
industry-related queries to the panel.
Technical Posters
In addition to the formal conference programme, posters will be presented by speakers from Zilift, Access ESP, Norway Institute of
Technology, Montanuniversitaet Leoben, Aberdeen and Cranfield Universities.
