 In the period 1991-2010, 494 new Iron and Steel units were
set up with a total investment of Rs 24837.13 crore
 34 new Iron & Steel Units were set up with investment to
the tune of Rs 10714.51 crore in 2010
 Production of finished steel increased to 2686 thousand
tonnes in 2009-10 from 1994 thousand tonnes in 2007-08
 Production of semi finished steel increased to 3099
thousand tonnes in 2009-10 from 1759 thousand tonnes in
2007-08
